Paleoclimatology is the study of climate and climate change over the scale of the entire history of earth.Aparticular area of focus is temperature. Since reliable temperature records typically exist for only the last 150 years or fewer, paleoclimatologists use measurements from tree rings, ice sheets, rocks, and other natural phenomena to estimate past temperature.
